Lots going on with TreeSpirit this summer! The tree lovers seen above bared their bodies, opened their hearts, and created, "Here To Stay," illustrating the vulnerability of San Francisco's Mt. Sutro Forest to a forest "management" plan by UCSF (The University of California at San Francisco) that would cut down much of the forest — over 25,000 healthy trees.
THE GOOD NEWS is UCSF is responding to the public's outrage over their
environmentally destructive plans, and has postponed the chainsaws until

Photographer arrested by CalTrans in Willits, CA.
As Caltrans continues draining 87 acres of wetlands to build a 6-mile
highway few want and no one needs — they're getting scared of increasing
press attention. (We made a TreeSpirit photo in Willits in March
to attract media attention.) Caltrans wants to hide the environmental
devastation, and the local community's reaction, fearing larger public
