and its director, angmimik, are pleased to inform their followers that Jerko Sladoljev, a noted
Croatian writer, tourism and camping expert, will contribute a series of guest
posts on related topics in the near future. Below please find Mr. Sladoljev’s impressive
curriculum vitae.
Jerko Sladoljev was born on February 11th, 1946 in Vodice. He graduated in tourism from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. Although he has mainly focused on marketing in tourism, he has been very active in camping tourism for almost thirty years.
In 1971, he established the Association of
Naturists Koversada. In 1977 he took the initiative, together with a group
of enthusiasts, in founding the Association of
Naturist Centres of Croatia; in 1981, the Yugoslav Camping
Union (KUJ); in 1992, the Croatian Camping
Union (KUH), and in 1996 the Croatian Campers’
Union (UKH) for users of camping services.
During his participation in KUH he held twenty workshops where, under professional expertise by European professionals, camps and domestic experts were graded, as well as proposing guide lines of development of camping tourism.
He was a marketing director of Anita Vrsar from
1969 until 1973 and again from 1979 until 1996, at the same position, in the
largest tourist company of the time Riviera Poreč. For a short time he was appointed at
the helm of the marketing centre, Istra Jadran in
Poreč.
In 1992 he was elected as the first president of the Istrian County Tourist Board, and from 1993 until 1997 he was elected member of the Tourist Council at the Croatia Tourist Board, in a new country, where for a short time he was employed as a senior marketing researcher as well.

He has worked as a secretary for the Croatian Camping Union to 2006, a member of the executive committee of EFCO (European Federation of Camping Organizations, London) to 2008. and a member of the Professional Council at the Ministry of Tourism to 2008.
He sat, as president, on the organizing committee of the 12th INF/FNI World Congress (Vrsar, Koversada,1972) and EFCO Congress (Zagreb, 1999).
He has contributed to numerous professional journals in this country and abroad such as La Vie au Soleil, UT, Tourism, Crotourist, European Camping Business, CroTurist, Turizam plus, Naturlaub.
In 2006, he founded TOP CAMPING POOL and as director of the project his entire commitment has been towards the quality and promotion in lobby for the quality in camping tourism.
He has taken part in numerous conferences, and his
well-researched papers have appeared in various publications all over Europe.
He has published a number of highly-appraised
brochures titled Naturism;
Information and
Facts About the Camps in Croatia; Environmental
Protection in the Camps.
He has published five books so far: Camping Tourism in 1998; Naturist Camps and Resorts in 2001; Quality of Camping Offer, Report 2000/2002 that has been translated into English; Fundamentals for the Retail and Sales Oriented Communication in Camping, in 2003 and Camping Brands in 2006.

Jerko Sladoljev received awards and prizes, such as
the Order of the
Croatian Braiding assigned by the President of the Republic of Croatia in
1996; The Gold
Medal of INF-Antwerp, 1975; The Best Tourist
Agent Municipality Poreč, 1982; The Golden Goat TZ County
of Istria, 1999 and the Golden Tent ADAC
(Munich, 2000).
