MANDOMATA NATURIST BEACH, FALIRAKI, RHODES, GREECE

Mandomata beach formerly known as Faliraki naturist beach has been a favourite destination for me for many years, now living in Rhodes it continues to be the beach I visit continually throughout the summer.

Mandomata is the only official naturist beach in Rhodes, although there are a couple of others which people do use, unofficially. Mandomata has had it's fair share of bad press, with a few complaints about voyeurs, mainly men who come down just for a look, this seems to have decreased over the years and is now no different to any naturist beach anywhere else in the world.

The beach itself is fairly quiet, but does get busy through July and August, a sand and pebble beach, there are a number of large rock areas in the sea, which have to be negotiated carefully or stubbed toes become a regular occurrence, that said it is no different to any beach anywhere else on the island, it is a very popular beach and very clean, ample parking and only a short walk down the boardwalk into Falaraki centre.

The naturist beach attracts a wide and varied age group, with near enough every country in Europe being represented, this makes the beach very attractive as there all shapes and sizes, and ages, this means that newcomers to naturism are less intimidated, and as always with naturists accepted immediately.

In my opinion Mandomata naturist beach is one of the most attractive and easily reached naturist beaches in Europe, it can and does attract people from all walks of life and sexual persuasion, nobody is left out, people with disabilities are able to access it's beach easily, enjoy its beauty and soak upthe sun.

There is an excellent family run Taverna, the same family running it for over 20 years, it serves excellent food, from barbecued meats and fish to Greek salads etc, also on offer are a good selection of drinks, beers, wine etc, a great way to get out of the noon day sun for an hour or two.

Would I recommend it to my friends? I do, and many have visited and are now regulars, they love it almost as much as I do, I now live in Rhodes, and visit Mandomata often.

  3. I am going to visit Rhodes with my wife, from 8 to 22 july. we'd love to visit this beach but we have never been on a beach like this before and we don't know how to "behave". Is it a must to get naked right after you get on the beach or we can do this when we hire the sunbeds? How many people are there during july and what age are they? Do people look at others and comment their bodies? I am sorry for all these strange questions but we are confused.

  4. You can take off your clothes after you hire the sunbeds. The beach has been an official naturist one since 1988, therefore all visitors should be mude.

Have a nice holiday in Rhodes. You can visit out naturist hotel for a day visit and join other guests in various activities.
