German naturists have undertaken to prepare a
plan for the first naturist grounds in Greece. This is the practical
realization of a long-felt want by thousands interested in naturism. A wish
becomes reality and a holiday in Europe’s most southern country – ancient
Hellas – is within our grasp.
The cradle of Europe once stood there: the idea of nudity as a testimony to truth was also born there; born in the Olympic Games, in the struggle of chariots and competitions of song, in the gymnasia for youth, in the sports meetings carried out entirely with naked athletes. And not the first naturist park to be purchased and opened in the classic land of nudity. Camps and bungalows will enable contemporary visitors to savour the atmosphere of ancient idealism in naked freedom. Greece has at all times served as a magnet of attraction – not only because of its sunny climate. The land of Hellas has scenes of incomparable natural beauty, possesses a magical island world of its own and, above everything else, contains a host of classic places of unique interest to the traveler. Its ruins bear witness to the birth of European culture, its festival plays remind us of the stirrings of humanistic drama portrayed against the pillared background of the old amphitheatres and temples. In 1956 Hajo Ortil and his youth groups had already undertaken a mammoth trip in their collapsible canoes into ancient Greece. The small band of enthusiasts who have now begun preparing the way for future naked paradises in Greece, and in the process found several worth-while sites for us to pitch our tents, cannot, unfortunately, find all the necessary capital themselves to finance the project. The grounds must be purchased and built up. Quite a costly business even if the accruing fruits are worth a thousandfold.
The purpose of this article, therefore, is to sound a clarion call to found a company for the purpose of making these magnificent Grecian paper plans reality. – By doing so you can be the means of helping all lovers of the nude throughout the world to spend an unforgettably wonderful holiday under the Greek sun.
